Testimonials

It is not the destination but the people who unpin the heart of our collaborative partnerships with schools.

Here is what passionate educators have to say about their students' learning experiences with us.

"At short notice Student Educational Experiences agreed to take over our planned student trip of 33 students to India in 2018. Initially we were apprehensive with the late change having not travelled with this tour operator before. However, the transition of paperwork and the booking process was smooth and clear. The in-country tour leader Mr Ayush who met us at Delhi showed us how important it is to travel with experts who know the country well. He was an excellent guide and facilitator with a passion for outdoor education and environmental issues. We found the program well spaced out, even with slow train travel, and particularly enjoyed time at the Elephant sanctuary near the Red Fort in Jaipur learning about ethical practices at the Sanctuary. As a teacher I would recommend Student Educational Experiences as a sound and capable student tour operator." Kevin Hsu Head of Outdoor Ed, National Fengshan Senior High School, Taiwan

"As a school focused on service learning we had been visiting Cambodia for many years when, in 2011 we engaged the services of SEE travel for the first time. We felt that we could get more out of our trip with guidance from experts in this area. We have been using SEE travel ever since and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Over the years they have helped us develop a service-learning program that incorporates an educational visit and working project in Vietnam as well as Cambodia. Each year, we work on ways to improve our service projects, ensuring our fundraising and our time are used efficiently so that those we serve, as well as our students, get the most out of our time over there. SEE travel makes fantastic recommendations as to where the help is most needed in these countries and help devise an itinerary each year based on how many students, we have attended the trip and where our funds will be best spent. Whilst over there, Dave and his team are incredibly organised and everything runs extremely smoothly. All the tour guides are bilingual, extremely accommodating and attentive to our needs, and nothing is ever a problem. I highly recommend SEE travel to any school or group who wish to embark on any style of adventure to any country in South East Asia as SEE travel are experts in this field and will work patiently with you to tailor a trip specific to your needs. Thanks Dave, Voleak and Xuyen!" Felicity Reynolds Nowra Anglican College, Australia

"“Wow” China was mind-blowing for our group of students with so many experiences packed into a short 8-day trip. There are too many highlights to list including man-made wonders to natural beauty and business and industry visits. Our students took a lot out of the car manufacturing plant visit in Shanghai and thought the Shaolin martial arts class was harder than it looks. Learning about the recently introduced Road and Belt policy initiative coupled with seeing the huge infrastructure projects being built really showed our students the importance and rise of China in the coming decades. We will definitely return in 2 years time to do it all again." Terri MacKaye Business Studies Teacher, SMK Pelita YNH High School, Indonesia

"We have been working with Student Educational Experiences for 10 years now. Our students spend time in Cambodia volunteering at a local school as well as working with other local organisations to complete community service projects that our students have fundraised for. Student Educational Experiences have adapted to meet the changing requirements of our programs. They are extremely helpful with the particular needs of our group. Their help setting up each program, as well as the local guides and tour leaders are invaluable to making our trip run smoothly." Nikki Sims Western International School Shanghai, China

"Thank you both for organizing again for us another fantastic Community Service Tour. As always everything was extremely well organised and all activities were fantastic. Hai – our tour guide was the best that we have had yet! The kids and the staff loved him! He was fun, serious, hard work at the building project and accommodating to everyone’s needs. He really was the best tour guide I have had with your company yet. I always say that this will be my last – but I am already thinking about next year!" Sally Lasslett Principal, Wallan Secondary College, Australia

"I would like to thank Student Educational Experiences office staff and ground operations staff for running such a smooth trip for us to Laos late last year. Mr Phet our local guide had a great sense of humour and was attentive to our needs and importantly could read our energy levels. His style of guiding engaged the students and pushed them to find out answers for themselves. Being a former teacher, he had the skills to do this. Highlights included working at a local school repairing classroom doors and window frames, taking part in a great race activity around Luang Prabang and a bike ride through villages where we visited cottage industries. Thanks to Quyen & David in the office for their assistance arranging the visas in advance, much appreciated." Claire Lambourg Social Studies Teacher, Manggahan High School, Philippines

"We have been taking Year 9 students to Vietnam and Thailand/Cambodia for a number of years. The trips include a range of experiences, including a hands-on community service component suitable for this age group. Student Educational Experiences are a professional company whose staff are consistently well organised with excellent standards of communication. SEE staff work collaboratively with our school to develop the trips so that they encompass our educational goals, ensuring students gain as much as possible from their over SEEs experience. SEE’s guides are extremely knowledgeable and always endeavour to provide safe and rewarding educational travel for all students and accompanying staff." Deb Trengove Director of Pastoral Care and School Psychologist, St Leonard's College, Brighton

"“Action Action Action” in Northern Thailand. We didn’t stop once our feet hit the ground with Miss Sonni our local tour leader. Our group of girls went from one experience to the next including white water rafting, zip lining and kayaking on the Mae Ngat Lake. While the Long Neck Karen eco village was confronting for students, the hospitality of the hill tribes in the north of the country was a great immersive experience had by all. Sleeping in a village for 3 three night we renovated a local primary school and built a water tank to use in the summer months was rewarding and definitely sweaty! We are considering community project options for next year so our school can continue our ongoing relationship with the village." Julie Kyo Mathematics Teacher, Uijeon High School, South Korea

"Thank you SEE for an amazing, authentic and fulfilling experience to Thailand. Your professionalism, organisation and ease in which to travel with was invaluable. Hung, our tour guide was an absolute gem. His energy, humour and knowledge definitely rubbed off on the students. Over the course of the trip there were numerous highlights. The culture, history, food, markets, white water rafting and Muay Thai kickboxing to name a few. However, the community project is what sticks out as the most. It was at times difficult, but that is where the lasting learning for the students occurred. By being challenged, the students continued to develop their resilience, persistence, teamwork, cooperation, initiative and patience. And at the end of the project when we all saw the huge grateful smiles on the faces of the villagers, we had just built a house for, knowing that the house will stay in their family for generations will forever be one of the most rewarding moments of our students lives." Ben Robbins Geelong College, Australia

"At St John's Grammar School, we have partnered with Student Educational Experiences (SEE) for our Year 9 Journey to Vietnam immersion learning experiences for many years. These trips, focused on cultural and service learning, have consistently exceeded our expectations, thanks to the exceptional service provided by SEE. SEE's organisation and efficiency are outstanding. Every detail is meticulously planned, ensuring a smooth and ultimately experience for our students and staff. Communication with SEE is always timely, and professional, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. We have established a wonderful relationship with SEE, and our guide; they have wonderful with our students. Their ability to connect and engage with the students enhances the overall experience, making it even more memorable. Indeed, it is a highlight. Other highlights have included house-building, trekking, and meeting minority peoples, all of which have provided our students with a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and a heightened sense of global citizenship. The impact of these trips on our students is profound. We wholeheartedly recommend Student Educational Experiences to any school seeking a reliable and outstanding partner for their educational travel programs." Ben Clark Head of Middle School, St John's Grammar School

"We have been using Student Educational Experiences for 7 years now and highly recommend their business. Before the trip, the office is highly organised, works with your needs and wants to create the itinerary, offers a wide range of activities to give opportunities to really assist the communities in which you visit, are very quick to respond to questions and really make you feel relaxed that your tour is in good hands. When you are on tour, they have the best tours guides I have ever come across. They stay with you 24/7 and offer all the advice, assistance, knowledge and support you need. I can’t tell you how helpful and friendly they are. SEE spend the time to research places that need assistance so the work you do is really making a difference. Now that we have experienced what SEE have to offer, we would never use anyone else." Elizabeth Dunn Arden Anglican School, Sydney

"The International School of Kuala Lumpur has partnered with David Eales and Xuyen Le of Student Educational Experiences since 2013. Annually, our HS teams travel with SEA to Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam: Each week long program is an outstanding blend of partnership with a local community on a targeted project, immersion into the host country culture, and invigorating adventure. The programs the SEE team provides are engaging and meaningful. In addition to very high-quality learning and adventure activities, the logistics of their coordination is excellent: SEE manages our school programs from the moment each team’s flight lands in country to the final departure, coordinating all in-country accommodation, activities, guides, meals, and transportation. In addition to benefiting from exemplary pre-planning, our travel teams love the SEE guides who bring learning to life. SEE guides are highly trained in safety, wonderfully interactive with high school students, and have experience successfully accommodating for students with severe food allergies and various medical conditions. Furthermore, SEE team members’ approach is consistently respectful of indigenous culture, the friendly communities that welcome our groups, and the value of protecting natural environments. In summary, I give my highest recommendation to the SEE team and their programs because: - Quality of learning is very high. - Care for students is very high. - Safety standards are very high. - Enjoyment of their programs is very high."
